Power Move
Windmill
The windmill is one of the most recognisable power moves in breaking. The breaker rotates continuously across the upper back, shoulders, and chest while keeping the legs open. It requires timing, momentum, core control, shoulder comfort, and confidence moving through each rotation.
Note
Powermoves can take a long time to learn and even longer to master. Build the foundations first, train safely, and do not rush high-risk moves. Progress usually comes from consistent practice, conditioning, clean technique, and patience.

Difficulty breakdown
Difficulty is not only about strength. Balance, risk, coordination, and style all change how hard a move is.
Prerequisites
- Backspin
- Shoulder freeze
- Core control
- Hip mobility
Common mistakes
- Trying to muscle the move instead of using momentum
- Closing the legs too much
- Landing flat on the back
- Not lifting the hips during rotation
What to notice
Look for continuous rotation, open legs, lifted hips, and smooth travel across the shoulders and upper back. The cleaner the windmill, the less it looks like the breaker is forcing each rotation.
